How Much Did We Pay To Arm ISIS? • BRAVE NEW FILMS: SECURITY

Urge Congress to reject another Authorization of Use of Military Force (AUMF) and stop perpetual wars that don’t make any of us safer. http://www.bravenewfilms.org/nomorewa... WATCH MORE:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OvhA... SUBSCRIBE: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c...

On September 18th, 2001, President Bush and Congress signed into law the AUMF. This authorized the President to “use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.”

Since then, we have:

• Spent over 1.5 TRILLION dollars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.;
• Sacrificed and lost 67,802 American lives;
• Taken the lives of at least 520,000 people in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria - the vast majority who have been civilians;
• We have committed torture at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, and many other facilities throughout the world.

And with the AUMF, none of this even takes a vote of Congress anymore.

But now, Congress has the chance to repeal or revise another AUMF and put an end to this blanket authorization that will lead to billions more spent on foreign soil and handed out to defense contractors - and thousands more lives lost, both American and civilians abroad.

Sign this petition to urge Congress to take this opportunity to stop perpetual wars that don’t make any of us safer. http://www.bravenewfilms.org/nomorewa...
